Viva con Agua is celebrating life. And the female cycle.

Every day about 300 million humans are menstruating all over the world. But the topic of menstruation and menstrual hygiene is still full of taboos and stigmas.

With the Day of Action VIVA! PERIOD. Viva con Agua created space for positive activism and conversation about menstruation and the female cycle together with artists, activists and initiatives.

We focused on a joyful and curious way of dealing with menstruation. We presented inspiring examples, experts and offered workshops for shared experiences of rhythm and flow. We indicated different points of view on the topic of menstruation, that may inspire and provoke a constructive discussion.

We were questioning: How does storytelling influence awareness for menstruation and the female cycle? How are we talking about it at work? Should activism be more radical? How is art working with menstruation? And how can we open space to discuss and change the view of menstrual hygiene, especially in the global context of WASH projects?
